From the end of November to December the store was filled with the worst of Muzac-licensed holiday tunes, all piped in from corporate headquarters such that if instantaneous teleportation was possible from store to store you wouldn't have to miss a beat. Although the most cringe-worthy abomination I recall hearing was outside of the holiday season - an orchestral version of Van Halen's "Runnin' With The Devil". My first job as a teenager was working in a department store.
